We were stoked to be able to produce YEAR TWO of the Marketplace Conference San Francisco! Just like last year, we worked with Dan Hoffer, Partner at Autotech Ventures, to design, create, and produce the conference and expand it this year. We love working with Dan as he’s always super kind, upfront with his feedback, and data driven. And his speaker curation is so on point! It makes for a great client, as I’m sure a really great venture capitalist as well 🙂
This year Dan brought on a new co-organizer, the well connected and respected Battery Ventures, to add to the list of other Organizers: Autotech Ventures in Silicon Valley and Speedinvest from Berlin. Read More
What an incredible day out in the sun! Bluxome Street Fair was greeted by a clear sky and great energy on Sunday October 14th.
Recently we helped our client, Alexandria Real Estate, to launch a new community center on Bluxome Street as part of their community outreach plan. To celebrate the launch of the new center, along with the amazing Bluxome Street businesses, we partnered with Plinth Agency to come up with a NEW event called Bluxome Street Fair. Neighboring businesses and even the fire station opened up shop and showcased their goods and services. Many of our community partners also joined us with booths along the street, including San Franciscans for Sports and Recreation, Bay Area Science Festival, Getaround, Hellofresh, and Xfinity.Read More
It’s been a month since the inaugural Entrepinays Summit happened, and I’m still feeling the energetic after-effects of this momentous day. The day after the event happened, I posted something to Facebook expressing pure JOY, happiness, inspiration, and just AWE at the beauty of the event and more importantly, the PINAYS who were a part of it.
This day was truly POWERFUL. Gathering 130 FILIPINA women, Pinay entrepreneurs & aspiring entrepreneurs in one room at Covo, grounded in sisterhood and #pinayism, grounded in love and openness, and with the sole purpose of building community and lifting each other up. WOW. As it was happening and especially after, I had a feeling in my gut that this day was going to be a DEFINING MOMENT in my life. I’m still confident that is the case.Read More
This year we were so excited to start offering a new service to our clients — VENUE CONSULTING! For our first venue consulting client, we partnered with Alexandria Real Estate to reimagine a completely empty space and turn it into a beautiful, functioning community event space!
After 9 months of work, construction, pitching proposals, branding, and outreach we finally launched this month to the Bluxome Street community in Central SOMA as Bluxome Center!Read More
San Francisco is known for many things, namely its art and the freedom to be whoever or whatever your soul desires. For 35 years, Creativity Explored (CE) has been creating a supportive environment for artists with developmental disabilities to create from their soul. With two studios in San Francisco, Creativity Explored provides an amazing space for artists to explore and achieve their fullest potential. Thus, it was only fitting to celebrate 35 years of creativity in full San Francisco flair – with lots of color, laughter, pizazz, and community. Read More
After 7 years, today is my last day at Google / X. Honestly, I never thought I’d stay for that long. And the funny thing is, I almost didn’t accept the job. But here I am 7 years later, and ready to take the leap and go full time #Entrepinay (aka Pinay entrepreneur). Reflecting back, there wasn’t one moment that brought me to this decision. Instead it was a perfectly timed chain of events, a lot of faith, and listening to signs from the universe that led me to this current endeavor.
Wow, is 2017 seriously over already? This has been a WHIRLWIND year, in a really awesome crazy way. Make it Mariko has grown and expanded our reach like no other, and we’re so thankful for every single client, community, and organization that has crossed our paths this year. We look forward to growing our family even more in 2018!
