Reports To: Event Producer
Location: On-site in San Francisco

About the Role

The Event Operations Associate is a key on-the-ground role responsible for executing event logistics and delivering a smooth, welcoming guest experience. This role supports event load-in and load-out, manages registration and guest flow, and provides customer service during the event. You are the calm, capable presence that helps everything run smoothly behind the scenes and at the door.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, community-centered, dependable, and comfortable working in fast-paced, live event environments.

Event Dates & Times:
  • 2nd Saturdays from March – November with a break for June
  • Time: 9am – 5pm. Shifts will be between 6-8 hours each day with breaks in between.
  • March 14, April 11, May 9, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14, 2026

What You’ll Be Doing:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Event Setup & Breakdown
  • Assist with event load-in, setup, and breakdown, including furniture, signage, decor, and supplies
  • Follow event floor plans, run-of-show, and direction from the Event Producer
  • Support basic staging, vendor load in/out, vendor placement, and activation setup as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized event space before, during, and after the event
  • Assist with load-out and ensure all equipment and materials are properly packed and accounted for
On-Site Operations Support
  • Act as on-site support for the Event Producer
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with the team via radio, text, or in-person
  • Assist vendors, performers, or partners with basic needs and logistics
  • Monitor event spaces to ensure timelines, transitions, and guest experience remain on track
  • Step in where needed to solve problems quickly and calmly
Registration & Guest Experience
  • Manage guest check-in and registration, including gathering guest information, directing guests to various program spaces, and food distribution
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for guests, answering questions and providing clear directions
  • Assist with guest flow, line management, and crowd control as needed
  • Troubleshoot guest issues with professionalism and care
  • Support VIP, press, or special guest check-in as directed

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1-2 years previous experience in events, hospitality, customer service, or operations preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
  • Comfortable working weekends and long event days
  • Calm under pressure with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills – you enjoy interacting with people and building new relationships.
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and uses respectful, inclusive language when engaging with BIPOC, Queer, and marginalized communities

Location: San Francisco, CA

Hours: Shifts will be anywhere from 6-8 hours long with hours from 9am – 5pm.

Event Dates:

  • 2nd Saturdays from March – November with a break for June
  • March 14, April 11, May 9, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14, 2026 
  • We will prioritize people who can commit to the entire season, but it is not mandatory.

Compensation: $25 per hour. Parking will be covered.
