It’s been quite a year. For the world, and Make it Mariko. We’ve been so so endlessly thankful for our entire community, for having our backs, continuing to support us, send us referrals, and just being there as a positive energy as we continue to navigate through this continued “new normal” of life. And especially as we came out of a much needed sabbatical to redefine and recreate ourselves.
And now, in true Make it Mariko fashion, we want to celebrate it all.

Join us for our 7-Year Anniversary Party and Gina Mariko’s Birthday on December 29th! We’re coming together for some of our favorite activities: Karaoke, DJs, Dancing, Signature Cocktails, and of course, FOOD.

Black & White Anniversoiree
A Holiday Party celebrating POC creatives, Make it Mariko’s 7 Year Anniversary + Gina Mariko’s Birthday!
Date: Thursday, December 29, 2022
Time & Schedule: 6-11PM
6-9PM: VIP Reception with Karaoke & Bites in private back room
9-10PM: DJ & Dancing with DJ Lady Ryan
10-11PM: DJ RJ Kool Raul
Venue: Victory Hall, 360 Ritch St, San Francisco, CA 94107
All ages are welcome, but babysitters are encouraged so our friends can GET DOWNNNN!
Covid Safety
- All guests should not be showing any symptoms of Covid or being sick by the time they attend the event. If you are feeling sick at all (including sore throat or a cough), please do not attend.
- We encourage all guests to take a Covid test prior to attending. We will have some available onsite.
- We’ll have disposable mic covers available for folks doing karaoke 🙂
Karaoke!
- Karaoke will be first come, first served.
- Only one song can be submitted at a time.
- Karaoke is FREE, but we encourage donations which will all go towards Pinayista, a nonprofit community collective of self-identified Pinays building sisterhood in the hustle.
Will there be food?
Most definitely! Food & Drinks will be available for purchase at Victory Hall. Credit Card is accepted. We will have a specialty cocktail available and $1 of each specialty drink purchased will go towards Pinayista.
What To Wear?
Dress to impress for yourself.
So the party IS called the “Black & White AnniverSoiree” so we’d LOVE if you came in some black/white attire. But honestly….Do you, boo. Whether you want to rock your flyest black/white fit to celebrate our event theme, or just celebrate your beautiful self, come in whatever makes you feel like your best.
Don’t know about you, but we’ve really missed expressing ourselves through clothing! Here’s your chance. Best believe there will be photo opps!

Owned and operated by talented Pinay serial entrepreneur, Deanna Sison, we’re so excited to be hosting our anniversary party at this creative, eclectic San Francisco venue!
Tucked away on Ritch Street in the heart of SOMA, Victory Hall boasts of a newly redesigned bar with great booze, great food, and vibes to match.
Note from the Birthday Girl & Founder
Phew, it’s been a year: personally and professionally. Having started the year taking a 3 month sabbatical, then coming back to recreate Make it Mariko from a place of abundance, rehiring a new team, and continuing to ideate and grow. I’m SO thankful for you all.
For anyone who knows me, they know that symbolism means a lot to me. In Tarot, the number 7 is the CHARIOT. It can mean growth and movement, but also flow and fluidity. Travel and change are constant. It can mean working hard, but also moving with the flow of things.
2022 was EVERYTHING like that. FLOW was my word of the year. I learned how to sit with myself in silence, in nothingness, and in reflection. It looked like a trip to Mexico to look deep into my depths and forgive myself and find myself again. It looked like moving back into the work in a healthy, creative, and abundant way.
And now it looks like the movement of change and growth with a NEW TEAM 🙂 I’m so so excited about the future. And I’m so grateful for you all.
