Wow, is 2017 seriously over already? This has been a WHIRLWIND year, in a really awesome crazy way. Make it Mariko has grown and expanded our reach like no other, and we’re so thankful for every single client, community, and organization that has crossed our paths this year. We look forward to growing our family even more in 2018!
Olivia and Steven’s wedding was nothing short of a fairytale. When Olivia originally reached out to me about planning her wedding, I was immediately excited about their vision — a small, intimate wedding at Tilden Park with white vintage furniture. I said, count me in! Read More
When I was introduced to the movement around SOMA Pilipinas by my friend Desi Danganan about a year ago, I knew I had to get involved. I had just launched Make it Mariko a few months back, and was ready to get back involved with the community especially rallying around Filipino entrepreneurs. So I offered to help produce a “launch party” for SOMA Pilipinas as a way to help spread the word about the district and get people excited and proud. I knew I’d be in for some work, but had no idea how much work…
We eventually came up with the idea for the Creative Night Market based on the vibrant night markets in Asia and we started to see this beautiful concept coming to life, with an amazing team of Filipino entrepreneurs and #Entrepinays. On Friday August 18th, we officially launched UNDISCOVERED SF: A Creative Night Market for the Bay Area, and the Filipino community responded.
It’s always a joy when my clients take me back to my alma mater, UC Berkeley. As a Berkeley alum, I’m excited to now be one of the preferred planners for their onsite wedding & event venue, The Faculty Club. Funny story, I actually graduated on the Faculty Club lawn from the Philosophy Department back in the day!
An eco-conscious couple, Grace & Colby were inspired by all the beautiful trees and nature surrounding the Faculty Club and wanted wildflower-inspired florals that looked like they were freshly foraged. We incorporated natural elements into all their decor from dried flowers on the signage, wooden frames, green leaves as escort cards, and the beautiful (and giant) hanging wreath designed by Juna Alinea.Read More
At the beginning of the summer Junalene and I started brainstorming concepts and planning for a Pride-inspired Photoshoot. This would be the first photoshoot that we did as Endeavors Collective! We wanted to showcase our same sex couple clients during a month dedicated to celebrating their love and right to marry, and also show solidarity as allies for our LGBT clients and friends after the tragic events that occurred in Orlando.
It’s been a crazy summer and I’m finally able to blog and share some of my favorite shoot photos with you, including some behind-the-scenes shots! We had so many amazing partners on board for the shoot and I couldn’t be happier how it all turned out.
